what to wear for date night

Summer is finally here! And what better way to celebrate longer days than going out with your number one? We get it—finding a babysitter and time for just the two of you is hard—but we’re big believers in dating your significant other whether you’ve been together two months or twenty years. We checked in with three Evereve employees to see how they get ready for a date night. Find three date night outfit ideas for different body shapes below!

The Jumpsuit Upgrade

“With both of our sons in college, date night for my husband and me is whenever we want it to be! We don’t schedule a specific day of the week to go out—we’ll head to happy hour whenever the mood strikes, usually earlier in the evening. When the boys were younger, so much of our free time revolved around their activities. Now that it’s just the two of us, it’s easier to stay in touch, but we still have to make an effort. A jumpsuit is dressier than I would think to go for happy hour, but I’m surprised by how comfortable it is! And it really is a chameleon—I could pair it with different shoes and jewelry to work for a casual Friday or a Broadway show.”

Our Gretta Jumpsuit’s tie waist creates curves, and the V neckline balances your proportions. Add interest with a pop of color and texture in your accessories.

The Blazer Upgrade

“Getting ready for date night with my husband is usually a frantic scramble to wake up the kiddos from naps, get the pizza ready and get dressed before the babysitter arrives! But we believe investing in each other only makes us better for our family, and we’ve been trying to break out of the same old routine with more adventurous date nights. Last week we went to a restaurant that has bowling, bags and other indoor lawn games, and it was fun to connect over more than cocktails! We are both super casual—if my husband can’t wear jeans, he’s not going—so I love that this look is just a notch up from what I would typically wear out. And as a working mom, it’s so important to me to have pieces that I can wear multiple ways. I could wear this exact look to work with loafers or slides.”

High rise jeans hug your curves and cinch your waist in a WOW way. Add a blazer to highlight the narrowest part of your frame and create long lines.

The Dress Upgrade

“My husband and I are homebodies! We like to stay in during the winter, but now that it’s warming up, we’ll venture out a bit more. Most of the time, our “dates” are just doing the regular household errands together, like a big grocery run—but we’ll go out for dinner and a movie after to make it more of an outing. The first thing I look for when getting dressed is comfort, and I need clothes that don’t look out of place when our errands turn into more. This dress is so comfy and stretchy—it feels like wearing a t-shirt, and it’s definitely a step up from my jeans. I love that it lets me feel like myself whether I’m running around or relaxing on a patio.”

Our Raegan Dress accentuates your legs while a denim jacket accentuates your chest. Bonus: the Raegan’s adjustable side ruching lets you create your perfect length.

I love everything Evereve including this new blog. I just can’t get enough! Only thing I would like us more of a L/XL size 12/14 presence. Not all of us moms are the smaller sizes.
